CHIC Liquid Vinyl Systems before?
After 23 years of success in Canada, CHIC has recently entered the U.S.
market.
|
 |
How long has liquid
Vinyl been around?
It was originally developed in England in the early 1960's.
|
 |
Who is C.H.I.C?
A Canadian manufacturing company, which acquired the rights to the liquid
vinyl in the early 1980's.
|
 |
Can you really make your
home "Maintenance Free and Never Paint Again"
Yes, this unique formulation has withstood the test of time in all types of
climates from some of the harshest weather Mother Nature has to offer such
as a lighthouse on the west coast of Canada. Wind driven rain and salt water
were literally eating the paint off the lighthouse and destroying it until
CHIC Liquid Vinyl was applied over twenty years ago.
|
 |
What other well known
structures have used liquid vinyl?
The J.L. Bedsole Rotary Rehab Hospital in Mobile, AL. The U.S.
Counsel Generals home in Vancouver, BC, The Peace Arch in Washington State,
and the Vancouver World Science building . But most importantly it has been
applied to thousands of homes in the U.S. and Canada just like yours. Most
recently, the
Frank Lloyd
Wright home in Lake Mahopac NY.
|
 |
Why doesn’t paint last?
The Government and EPA have forced the removal of VOC's (volatile organic
compounds, lead and zinc) from paint. This reduces its resistance to the
elements and shortens its life span. Also paint is very porous and allows
mold, mildew, grime and water to adhere and enter the paint thus causing
its break down and structural damage.
|
 |
What types of surfaces
can be coated in liquid vinyl?
All types of surfaces can be coated including wood, masonite, hardi-board,
shake shingle, brick, block, stucco, aluminum, vinyl siding, and even
asbestos siding can coated.
|
 |
Have you done any
Historic homes?
Yes, CHIC Liquid Vinyl is approved by many historical societies to restore the
home to its original condition, looking just like a fresh coat of paint but
preserving it for a lifetime.
|
 |
Can I do it myself?
NO! Because we feel so strongly about the quality of our jobs, only approved
applicators install our CHIC Liquid Vinyl System. They have been trained in
all aspects of the installation process, from the initial wall preparation
right through to the final clean up. You can rest assured that your job was
done to the highest possible standards.
|
 |
Is this product toxic?
No, it meets or exceeds all local and federal standards for exterior wall
application.
|
 |
Is breathability an
issue?
Absolutely! A non-breathable coating will cause extensive rotting to your
building. CHIC Liquid Vinyl creates a highly breathable surface which is
also waterproof.
|
 |
How is it applied?
After a thorough preparation of the exterior of your building, a three-coat
system is applied by rolling, brushing, spraying or combination of methods.
|
 |
Does it look like paint?
Yes! It's applied in three separate coats, which results in a thickness
eight to ten times greater than paint. It has a smaller molecular structure
which attributes to its paint like appearance, but lasts for a lifetime.
|
 |
How long does this
process take?
While some jobs can be completed in as little as 3 days, most homes can be
completed within 5-7 working days.
|
 |
How many colors does it
come in?
Over 2000 colors.
 |
 |
What is the cost of
using Liquid Vinyl my home?
Every job is different, but we can tell you that it will be more than a
conventional paint job and is usually less than having vinyl siding
installed. So please contact our office for a free no
obligation estimate.
